This song recalls the night we brought our daughter home to be adopted. We drove from Oregon to Washington as the moon hung low over the freeway. with the road winding in front of us the moon appeared to be dodging in and out of the trees. I told my daughter that it was playing "hide and seek" and she laughed the entire way home. It was a night none of us will forget.

We drove home through the trees
the moon played with you in hide and seek
And you laughed, and you laughed, and you laughed, playful and free
and it felt just like the first time
like family

Oregon stars shine down like northern lights
illuminate the wind of road we drive
And we've cried, and we've cried, for such a long time
and feels like for the first time
it's going to be alright

Our beloved
